Tomorrow is a late-start day at Hononegah Community High School. The building will be open to first-hour students only at 8:40 AM and open to all students at 9:20 AM. First hour begins at 9:00, and the second hour begins at 9:45. There is no before-school tutoring on late-start days. Early Bird bus routes will pick students up exactly 1 hour and 10 minutes later than usual. Regular bus routes will pick students up exactly 55 minutes later than usual.

Reminder: Parent-Teacher conferences are this Thursday night, October 8th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. We hope to see all your parents here for conferences!

Hey Seniors! Don't forget—tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7th, school counselors are hosting an FSA ID and Financial Aid Workshop in the Library from 8:30 to 9:30 AM during Late Start. Stop by the Library tomorrow morning to get the FAFSA checked off your list!
ATTN: All 10th and 11th grade students are invited to take a proficiency test during Wednesday, October 14 - Friday, October 16, or Wednesday, October 21 at 7:00 am (ideal for students with a 1st hour) or at 7:45 am on the track at Kelsey Field. These are the only dates and times the test will be offered. Students must pass the test to be exempt from PE for 2027-2028. Please sign up for the test by Tuesday, October 13, using a link found in your school email titled 2027-2028 Physical Education Proficiency Test sent on September 2, 2026. Students are to meet in the Student Commons on the day of their test.

Did you know It’s a Wonderful Life was filmed during a heatwave? Not only had they been filming during the hot summer months in California, but there was a heatwave coinciding. It got so hot at one point that Frank Capra had to give the cast and crew a day off to recover. Toward the end of the film when George runs around shouting “Merry Christmas” to everyone, we see snow, but there are certain shots where you can see Jimmy Stewart’s face glimmering with sweat.
Performances of this year’s fall play It’s a Wonderful Life will be November 6th & 7th @ 7pm and November 8th @ 2pm. Tickets go on sale THIS Friday, October 9th.
The Hononegah Rugby Team kicks off against Taft High School this Sunday, October 11th at 1 PM on Kelsey Field. Come out and support our Hono Ruggers!

Key Club will meet Thursday in the upper AP room at 7:30 for those with a first hour and at 8:00 for those without. All are welcome.
Paranormal Investigators is selling spirit wear. Stop by room 2419 to get an order form. Money is needed to place an order; all orders are due by October 9, 2026, to Room 2419. Faculty and other students are also welcome to order shirts.

There is no budging in the lunch lines. Please wait your turn and stay in line.
Taking items without paying is considered stealing and is against our lunchroom rules. Students who are seen doing this will be subject to disciplinary consequences.
If you are not getting food, please do not stand in the lunch line or hold a place for someone else.
Please be respectful to our lunchroom staff and to the students around you. We all share responsibility for keeping the lunchroom a positive, respectful place for everyone.
Students, please get on your bus immediately after school. Buses leave at 3:25.
