The Admirable American for this week is a research scientist. In 1955, European-American Dr. Jonas Salk released his vaccine for Polio. He refused to patent his discovery. When asked about giving up the money a patent would bring, he noted the life-giving importance of his vaccine and asked, “Could you patent the sun?”

Don't forget that the last day to buy a Yearbook is April 17th.  You can purchase a yearbook at Jostens.com.  Our yearbooks are a summer delivery so if you have purchased a book, please use your signature supplement to write notes to friends and then insert it in your book when it arrives in July.


Hey Sophomores & Juniors — want to lead, inspire, and make a real impact? Apply to be a SOAR Mentor! Applications are open.  Please submit your applications by May 1.  Please check your email for a link to the application. 


Your Junior class is happy to announce that our Tides of Elegance themed Prom will be held on April 25th at Tebala Events Center. The dance will be from 7-10 pm with doors opening at 7:00. We will be selling tickets before and after school April 20th-23rd. Ticket prices for Hononegah Juniors and Seniors is $40, guest tickets and underclassmen guests are $50. Tickets may also be purchased online using the QR code found on the posters around the school. Guest forms can be turned into the DA office and are due by April 17th. 


Dance team sideline tryouts will be held in the Main Gym on April 27th through the 30th. Anyone interested in trying out should stop by Mrs. Frautschy's room, 1323, before or after school to pick up an informational packet.

Do you like to be outdoors? Do you like sports? Do you like volunteering? Please consider volunteering for the Special Olympic Spring Games held on May 2nd,2026 at Harlem High School. Posters with the QR code can be found in the cafeteria and by the Principal's Office. Great for individuals or clubs looking for volunteer hours. 


Have a favorite book with a cover that you love?  Want to make that book even more special?  Did you come to the other book bedazzling events and can't get enough? Then come to the library after school on April 17th for our third book bedazzling program!  Bring your own book, and we will provide all bedazzling materials.  All students and faculty members are welcome to attend!  See Mrs. Blum in the library with any questions.


This is a reminder that DoorDash, GrubHub, or any other delivery services are not allowed throughout the school day.  If you get something delivered, it will be confiscated, and you will not get it.  Thanks!

Club Announcements:

If you are interested in attending the Anime Club field trip to Anderson Gardens and Hachi Sushi, please see Mrs Blum in the library for a permission slip, and turn in the slip and admission cost for the gardens as soon as possible.  Don't miss out on this fun event!

Attention Tabletop Club! We have ONLY THREE more meetings this school year! So join us next Monday, April 20th, after school in the Main AP to enjoy some games while you can!

Attention Bass Fishing Club members, we are having a meeting this Friday, April 17 at 8:15 am in room 1436.  Please visit the Google Classroom and complete the two forms posted today and look at the practice schedule also posted.

Are you interested in seeing original films made by your peers? Look no further than Cinematics' Student Film Showcase. Submit your own films of any genre, length or style to Mrs. Robinson via email. Film submissions are accepted through Wednesday, April 22nd and the showcase will premiere Thursday, April 23rd at 3:30 in the PAC. Don't forget to bring a friend!


Join The Young Progressives and GAIA for some Earth Day activities. A campus clean up will take place April 19th @12:00PM and Earth Day themed chalk on April 20th @8:15AM. We will meet at the main entrance for both events. Hope to see you there!
